Exclusive Lancashire Wedding Venue

Mitton Hall is a stunning exclusive Lancashire Wedding Venue, situated just outside Whalley in the Ribble Valley. It’s also a very popular wedding venue for Lancashire-based weddings. I have been a Mitton Hall wedding photographer quite a few times now, and in all seasons (Autumn is best!). The staff are friendly, and nothing seems to be a problem, for the happy couple or wedding guests alike. Owned by James Places, Mitton Hall is an exclusive wedding venue, and definitely one of the best wedding venues in the Ribble Valley.

Winter Wedding at Mitton Hall

One of Faith & Paul’s good friends recommended me as their Mitton Hall wedding photographer, for their winter wedding there. When we met for a pre-wedding chat, we hit it off straight away. Well, who wouldn’t - Faith is a human dynamo, full of energy and ideas, while Paul is the classic, strong (almost) silent type. This was going to be a brilliant wedding, with a brilliant couple! Their wedding date was perfect for my being a Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer.

Wedding Preparations at Mitton Hall

I arrived for Faith & the girls’ wedding preparations at Mitton Hall slightly early. I tend to if I can, so that nothing is rushed, even though we are shooting live. During Faith’s bridal preparations, Paul and Best Man quietly sneaked in to the Bridal Suite to get ready. I joined them for around 10 mins for a few live, unposed photos, as part of my Mitton Hall wedding photographer duties. Ties, on, shoes on, the lads were off to the bar area…oh, to meet the wedding guests obviously!

Mitton Hall Wedding Ceremony

As the clock slowly approached ceremony time, Faith was ready. Ready to meet an emotional Mum and Dad too, as they wanted to see their daughter before she walked down the aisle. Faith looked stunning in her wedding dress from Fairytale Brides in Whitefield, just up the road from me. Now the excitement and emotion was running high, so I left the girls to it and joined the wedding guests downstairs. On cue, and perfectly on time, Faith and her bridesmaids emerged from the Hall, flanked by proud dad Malcolm. They walked slowly towards the rear of the conservatory, ready to walk down the aisle. My brief from Faith, as their Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer, was…. to get a great shot of her walking down the aisle, plus a great reaction shot of Paul at the same time. Errrr…No pressure then…

After the ceremony, we were off outside to brave the confetti run. I love the confetti throwing, the buzz and vibe of the shots just scream ‘wedding’, especially with such a stunning backdrop as Mitton Hall. Afterwards, the three of us went down into the gardens for a few Couple photos – classic mostly unposed wedding photos from Mitton Hall.

The light was gorgeous, and with very minimal input, we got a brilliant set of wedding photos in the bag, in around 15 minutes too! I was loving being a Mitton Hall wedding photographer, as this couple were just brilliant fun and we were working quickly and actually ahead of time. After the couples portraits, plus a good amount of time for mingling with the wedding guests, it was time to head into the main conservatory for the speeches. As the guests made their way, we hung back for a couple of minutes’ shooting some Mitton Hall Wedding photographer portraits outside. I say portraits, more of a laugh really…

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day…
