Spread Eagle Sawley Wedding Photographer
Highlights from Helen & Samuel’s Summer Wedding at the Spread Eagle Sawley
A Spread Eagle Sawley Wedding
The Spread Eagle Sawley is a beautiful Inn at the heart of the Ribble Valley. It is owned and managed by Individual Inns (a company I have also shot commercial work for), and is a stunning retreat for your Lancashire wedding. A very popular Inn for walkers and cyclists, the Spread Eagle Sawley is a great choice for your wedding, should you not want a more grandeur stately home style wedding venue. And…it has the ruins of Sawley Abbey across the road, perfect for the Spread Eagle wedding photographer. Helen & Samuel booked me as their Spread Eagle Sawley wedding photographer around Christmas time. Fast forward nine months and here we were, meeting for real (no more Zoom calls) for their August wedding. I was really looking forward to this Spread Eagle Sawley wedding as I hadn’t photographed at the venue for a while. The Spread Eagle Sawley website actually features quite a few of my wedding photos (which is nice!) Have a look at their brochure and see my photos for yourself here.
Seedfield Methodist Church
Helen was getting ready at her parents’ home near Bury on the wedding day. The ceremony was ‘down the road’ (literally) at Seedfield Methodist Church - a church where the family attend. Helen’s dad plays bass (good lad!) in the church band there, and played a couple of hymns on the wedding day too. Seedfield Methodist Church is an old red brick building in Bury - a classic looking side street methodist chapel in effect, but with a stunning (purple!) neon Cross on the alter. Looks stunning but causes a few headaches with colour correction when editing the photos! After the ceremony it was time for the confetti throw before jumping in the cars for Sawley…
Wedding Reception at The Spread Eagle
As we arrived at the Spread Eagle Sawley for wedding photos, Helen, Samuel and myself took off for a little wander round the corner into the garden area next to the river. There’s a great picture frame for selfies, plus a stunning view down the river Ribble to Sawley Bridge. Perfect for late afternoon and sunset photos as a Spread Eagle Sawley wedding photographer. We had scheduled in some time for a few family photos, plus a mildly chaotic photo of all the wedding guests ‘across the street’. With a good hour or so to mingle, I had time to photograph the Abbey Room - all ready for the wedding reception at the Spread Eagle. As the time was called, the wedding guests went to find their places for the wedding breakfast, ready for the new Mr & Mrs Rimmer to burst in all excited. This wedding reception at the Spread Eagle Sawley was loaded with speeches, emotional moments and good wishes, with a surprise speech from Helen’s sister at the end, to make Helen cry one last time (happy tears of course).
Spread Eagle Sawley Wedding Photographer
I have been a Spread Eagle Sawley wedding photographer a few times, and love working at the venue. The classic Inn is a gorgeous, classic building to work in, while the stunning Abbey Room with it’s large windows and semi-panoramic views make for a brilliant base for photos as a Spread Eagle Sawley wedding photographer. My natural documentary style is obvious in this collection. Even the set up and posed photos - well, most of them aren’t. They are real, and natural…I just let my clients do their own thing, with no direction or intervention from me. I’m looking forward to being a Spread Eagle Sawley wedding photographer again soon.
