Popular Yorkshire Wedding Venue

The Fleece Countryside Inn is a popular Yorkshire Wedding Venue situated just outside Halifax.

It describes itself as:

“Situated amongst the rolling hills of the Ryburn valley, The Fleece overlooks the picturesque village of Ripponden and from its location, boasts stunning views across the Calder Valley. If you are looking for a truly picturesque wedding then you have come to the right place too. Our dedicated events team are on hand to help you with planning every step of the way, we ensure you have a perfectly relaxed wedding day with endless photo opportunities to capture those special moments”.

Laura & Will booked me to produce their photography for their The Fleece Countryside Inn wedding a few months’ previous to their wedding. This was to be a two-part day really, with wedding photography at The Moravian Church beforehand, before travelling over to Ripponden for their photography at The Fleece Countryside Inn wedding.

Moravian Church Wedding

I met Laura and her wedding party at her house for some preparations photos for her Fleece Countryside Inn wedding, but the main start to the day was the brilliant church wedding at the (almost secret) Fairfield Moravian Settlement in Manchester. This location has a stunning, gated area, and consists of around fifty red brick terraced houses, plus cobbled streets. Very unique! A total film set ready to go, and really interesting place to visit. Laura & Will’s wedding ceremony before their Fleece Countryside Inn wedding was to be at the Moravian Church secluded in the enclave. I arrived in good time to capture Will, his family and the wedding guests all arriving for church, all with the same expressions on the faces….the wow factor of such a place to be married. It was Jubilee time too, so all the bunting was out.

Laura arrived in a vintage Bentley, all giddy and ready to almost run down the aisle. With dad by her side, Laura walked into church and met Will and the wedding guests waiting for her. After the ceremony, we were outside for a brilliant confetti run, a few family group photos plus a few minutes’ of Bride & Groom portraits, before heading off for the Fleece.

Wedding photography at The Fleece Countryside Inn

This was to be my first visit to produce my wedding photography at The Fleece Countryside Inn and be one of the many weddings that The Fleece Countryside Inn hosts every year. Laura & Will booked me for their summer wedding photography at The Fleece Countryside Inn over a Zoom call back one the dark winter’s evening. Fast forward to a brilliant summer day with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in full swing. My wedding photography at The Fleece Countryside Inn was a full day booking, so my job was to capture all the fun and celebrations at The Fleece Countryside Inn, from arrival to the dancing. This a stunning part two to the day!

As the guests gathered on the terrace for drinks and canapés , they were treated to a fantastic surprise - The New York Brass Band appeared on the terrace roof above them! A few tunes in, the band made their way amongst the wedding guests who danced and sang with them. Brilliant! My wedding photography at The Fleece Countryside Inn had even more content to tell the story of the wedding day at this stunning venue. With some brilliant speeches to follow, then a gorgeous meal, everybody congregated back outside on the terrace, so I could resume my wedding photography at The Fleece Countryside Inn.

Sunset wedding photos at The Fleece Countryside Inn

Laura, Will and myself made our way into the meadow next to the venue to shoot some photography at their Fleece Countryside Inn wedding. Normally this area is 100% out of bounds, but I had met the owner before the couple had arrived from church, and had let me ‘hire’ the area for 30 mins’ sunset photos next to The Fleece Countryside Inn. Result! So we managed a few late afternoon / sunset photos at Laura & Will’s The Fleece Countryside Inn wedding while the guests partied on the terrace. For my first visit, I was very pleased with the way my wedding photography at The Fleece Countryside Inn was going! So were Laura & Will when their wedding gallery was delivered…

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day…
