Highlights from Rachel & Mark’s awesome wedding at this stunning North Wales wedding venue

Tyn Dwr Hall Wedding Photographer

Tyn Dwr Hall is a stunning country house style wedding venue in Llangollen North Wales. It’s a great venue for a wedding because it has such a unique feel and atmosphere. The venue is run by such a professional and friendly team as well as having so many options for your wedding photos. I absolutely loved being Rachel & Mark’s Tyn Dwr Hall Wedding Photographer as they just let me ‘do my thing’ and capture the day in my natural documentary style. Save for a few minutes’ family group photos, and a few more for some authentic portraits, the day was photographed with no intervention from me. Just as things should be done!

Nikki Webb Makeup Artist

When I arrived for Rachel’s preparations, Nikki Webb was already busy doing her thing. Nikki is a great freelance hair and make up artist based in the North West offering fresh and on trend make up, specialising in fashion, editorial, bridal and commercial work. Her website is well worth checking out. On duty with me for the day was my good trusted friend and colleague Martin Hambleton. So, between us, Nikki and the girls…. the day was just one big relaxed affair full of jokes and laughter. It never really felt like work! Martin and I opted to photograph the day with minimal kit, travelling light with two Nikons each, all fitted with a 50mm and 24mm prime lenses – allowing us to move quickly and unobtrusively to capture the day. Martin spent the morning with the groomsmen whilst I was photographing Rachel’s preparations, her dress, plus shots of her ‘Bride Tribe’ as things naturally happened.

Emotional Father of The Bride

Fathers of the Bride can be very emotional at their daughter’s wedding. It’s inevitable. When Rachel’s dad appeared and saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time, emotions ran high. Nobody spoke, it was all so quiet. I took that one shot reflected in the mirror I wanted and left them hugging in near silence. Wow, that WAS a moment to experience, and one I hope to share with my daughter when she gets married one day.

Wedding Guests at Tyn Dwr Hall

As the wedding guests started to arrive, the ceremony room was all ready and dressed. The atmosphere was brilliant. The weather looked promising too, people were enjoying pre-ceremony drinks on the patio, and children ran around the grounds laughing and playing. We were all set for some fantastic Tyn Dwr Hall Wedding Photography! As the guests were seated, Mark and the groomsmen were in position, it was time for Rachel and her dad’s entrance. Martin and I quietly captured both angles…all the shots looked great so it was hard to choose what to include here.

Wayne Farrow Wedding Singer

It was great to work with Wayne Farrow at the Tyn Dwr Wedding. This guy has so much energy and MC’s a wedding so brilliantly. Oh…and he can sing a bit too! It was good fun to be buried among the wedding guests with our wide angle lenses while they battered Martin and I with napkins while they sang! A mass conga, led by Rachel, a full ‘male voice choir’ (erm!) on bended knee singing Wonderwall, a mass ‘shot toast’ (with some very cringed up faces!), plus some brilliant speeches took the reception and evening party to another level.

Here are some of my favourite photos from the day…
