White Hart Lydgate Wedding - Zoe & Stephen
Highlights from Zoe & Stephen’s relaxed wedding at The White Hart Inn Lydgate
Wedding Venue With Character
The White Hart at Lydgate is a charming wedding venue. Situated just outside of Manchester, near Saddleworth, The White Hart Inn is a great choice of venue for those looking for a wedding venue with character. The White Hart has a purpose-built ‘The Oak Room’ at the rear, where the wedding reception takes place. Just through the rear glass doors is a purpose built ceremony room, open on three sides and perfect for summer weddings.
It’s also a very popular wedding venue for Lancashire and Greater Manchester-based weddings. I have photographed at The White Hart several times, and fully experienced with how to capture the best from the venue and its surroundings, whatever time of year.
New Zealand meets The White Hart Lydgate
Stephen and his family hail from New Zealand. On a pre-wedding meeting, we met at the venue and chatted over a coffee about the wedding day and it’s timings. Zoe and Stephen wanted me to document the day in my natural style but grab some family group photos for 15 mins at some point in the day. That point would be straight after the drinks reception, so that the guests could enjoy the rest of the day unhindered.
Unique Wedding Speeches
Stephen’s two brothers were the Best Men and surprised him (and us!!) with a Haka. Though there were just the two of them, the volume and atmosphere was amazing! Stephen stood with tears in his eyes as his brothers went through the moves and the chants. Everyone in the room watched in stunned silence.
The Rush Band
After the speeches we wandered down the lane for some sunset photos, getting back in time to cut the cake and hear the fantastic The Rush Band fire up for the First Dance and full-on partying afterwards. I work with these guys every so often, and they are the best around. Trust me. The dance floor fills from the first verse of the first song, and stays filled until the encore.
Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day…
