Highlights from Alice & Adam’s brilliant wedding celebration at this unique Lancashire wedding venue

Unique Lancashire Wedding Venue

The Wellbeing Farm is a unique Lancashire Wedding Venue, situated in the Edworth countryside near Bolton. It is a multi award-winning venue too, expertly managed by Celia Gaze and her team. Once a working farm, the venue is now a very busy wedding venue - with Llamas! Yes, it’s worth a visit to Wellbeing Farm just to meet the Llamas, who come to pay a visit once you are married there. And sheep…lots of friendly sheep too. Oh, and a Donkey…

Barn Weddings in Lancashire

The Wellbeing Farm is a perfect choice if you’re looking for Barn Weddings in Lancashire. The Barn is large enough to hold 180 guests for your ceremony, and up to 250 for the evening party! This is a big barn. On site too are Bride/Groom cottages for preparations, a bar plus lots and lots of props and gorgeous backdrops for your Wellbeing Farm wedding photography. Oh…and the Llamas. Did I mention them? They are great fun for quirky wedding photos.

Unique Wedding Celebrations

Alice & Adam booked me for their wedding celebration at Wellbeing Farm. Their wedding date had moved a time or two due to Covid restrictions. They had a legal ceremony with a few family and friends earlier on after restrictions had been lifted, and went ahead with their wedding plans, but a renamed Wedding Celebration Party at Wellbeing Farm. Alice was now pregnant but in full party mode (Converse pumps and orange juice though).

I arrived in the morning to photograph both sets of preparations, next door to each other in the cottages. I spent a few minutes with the Alice and Adam, and let them get on with things in private. As the ceremony time arrived, Adam wandered over to the barn to tree the 150 or so wedding guests. A few minutes later, Alice walked in to join everyone. Very unique wedding celebrations! The couple walked down the aisle together while the two brothers waited to ‘perform’ the ceremony. It was hilarious! A sort of warm up act for the speeches to follow….ouch. After a few minutes, Alice & Adam were ‘dubbed’ Mr & Mrs Hall, and sat down. Father of The Bride time now, and while everyone was seated, Alice’s dad gave a brilliant speech to all 150 guests - all still seated from the ‘ceremony’. Then Adam got his chance to give his speech, with flowers and gifts for mums and Bridesmaids.

The three Best Men then stood up and took turns to hold court with their character assassination of poor Adam. It really was the funniest, unique and most relaxed section of a wedding I have ever photographed. Once the built Adam back up, we lined up outside for a confetti run, then made our way across the yard to meet the Llamas near the tractor. It was such a brilliant photo opportunity for the wedding guests. As we stayed out to take a few couple portraits, we battled the Lancashire gales then headed inside for canapés and live music from The Electrica String Trio.

After a while in the bar area, the guests made their way back to the Barn for the evening celebrations. With a DJ waiting to throw some tunes their way, Alice & Adam had their first dance to start the party.

Here’s some of my favourite highlights from the day…
