Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer - Jake & Keegan

Highlights from Jake & Keegan’s brilliant same sex wedding at Ordsall Hall

“Thank you so much for putting these together for us, they are absolutely amazing!

We have just spent a lovely evening looking through them all and reliving our beautiful day...”

Ordsall Hall Wedding Venue

Jake & Keegan booked me as their Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer on recommendation from the venue itself. I have worked at this stunning Tudor Wedding venue in Salford before - it’s a very unique wedding venue, off the beaten track somewhat. I was really looking forward to being an Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer, and photographing Jake & Keegan’s same-sex wedding at Ordsall Hall, as their brief was for me to capture their day from before the ceremony till around 7pm and “give them a collection of memories”. Brilliant - I love it when clients understand what they want, and how to just leave me to it!

Ordsall Hall is based in Salford, near the Quays, and describes itself as such:

“The historic Ordsall Hall is licensed to host civil weddings on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year.

The celebrated charm and traditional style of this impressive venue provides the perfect ‘exclusive’ location for an intimate celebration. Say your vows in the glorious surroundings of the 500 year old timber framed Great Hall under the stunning Victorian chandelier. The gorgeous Tudor exterior, magnificent interior and beautiful gardens provide stunning backdrops for endless photography to capture your special day.

For a day to remember you need an unforgettable venue and without a doubt, Ordsall Hall delivers in all aspects for the wedding of your dreams”.

Summer Weddings at Ordsall Hall

Ordsall Hall is a perfect venue for summer weddings. Jake & Keegan had a tipi outside on the lawn for their summer wedding at Ordsall Hall. Theirs was to be a semi-0intimate wedding, just twenty five guests for the ceremony and drinks ks reception, with a further twenty five guests to join later on for the buffet and DJ. This summer wedding was giving me lots of scope as an Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer, mingling with the guests as they enjoyed the day. I’d met Jake & Keegan via a Zoom call one evening, but nothing prepared me for how camera-shy they both were. I almost had to bully them politely to have a few couples photos in and around the stunning grounds at Ordsall Hall! After a couple of drinks, they were fine, loving the camera and being themselves in front of it….

Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer

This was to be my second or third time as an Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer, and I was loving it. Everything has easy access, allowing me to literally be in two places at once - well, you know what I mean! I wanted to capture my clients’ day as naturally as possible - no gimmicks, no heart-shaped group photos from this Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer! Just natural, mostly unposed wedding photography…as it should be. My time with the wedding wasn’t a full day - no prep or late night party shots to capture, that’s not what Jake & Keegan are about. A fun-filled afternoon / evening wedding was perfect for them and their guests. The buffet was awesome (true me, I went last!) and the dessert trays were to die for….a complete ‘mixed salad’ of everything yummy. This Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer was very happy working here today. So was the wonderful Sue and her team. Sue is the ‘Boss Lady’ (as I call her) at Ordsall Hall, and runs the day brilliantly with her fantastic (and chirpy!) crew. Thanks again for looking after me!

The Bridgewater String Quartet

As part of my Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer duties, I got to mix and photograph the stunning Bridgewater String Quartet. These guys were just incredible, playing a whole range of classic, pop and even rock tunes. Famed for their CV, the quartet perform regularly with some of the country’s top professional orchestras such as BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, CBSO, Northern Ballet, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Sinfonia Cymru, Manchester Camerata, Opera North and Northern Chamber Orchestra.

They have also played with Elbow, Clean Bandit, The 1975, Will Young, Pet Shop Boys, Andrea Bocelli, Dame Kiri Ti Kanawa, Leslie Garrett, Russell Watson, Bryn Terfel, Katherine Jenkins, Gorrilaz, Katie Melua, Nicola Benedetti, Aled Jones and Julian Lloyd Webber.

Live radio and television performances include BBC Radio 3, BBC 1 Children in Need, BBC Radio Wales, BBC 4 (The BBC Proms), Songs of Praise, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and Red Nose Day

Signing Board at a Wedding

I get to see many variations of Signing, or Signature Boards at weddings. Jake’s and Keegan’s was really unique. Sadly Keegan’s gran had passed away, so Keegan had scanned a letter she had written and reworked the wording for the Signing Board. Look carefully….an incredibly emotional and beautifully thought-out idea.

LGBTQ+ Wedding Photography at Ordsall Hall

I really enjoyed my day producing Jake & Keegan’s same-sex wedding photography at Ordsall Hall. My brief was just to let the day flow and ‘do my thing’. I travelled light for this LGBTQ+ wedding at Ordsall Hall, using two cameras plus four lenses…and NO flash. The whole day was captured live and unstaged - apart from a few minutes of family group photos, which were photographed in a few minutes - heck the Prosecco was still chilled when we finished! So, this unique same sex wedding was brilliant to be part of. Thanks again for having me on board as your Ordsall Hall Wedding Photographer guys!

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day…
