Owen House Barn Winter Wedding Photographer

Highlights from Natasha & Luke’s brilliant winter wedding at this stunning Cheshire wedding venue

“Mick, I cannot thank you enough for your work. These photos are phenomenal.

I’m just so overwhelmed with everything you captured…”

Owen House Wedding Barn

Owen House Wedding Barn is a stunning, bespoke family-run wedding venue located in Mobberley in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. A fully self-contained wedding venue, having purpose-built ceremony and reception rooms, bridal prep, groom prep space (literally a few paces away from the ceremony room) and a stunning photo studio for those eye-catching couples photos. Oh, and there’s accommodation on-site too. This was my first visit to the venue, in December. On a very dark, wintery (and wet) day. With a 4pm ceremony (gulp!). But, I knew we would nail it!

Winter Wedding Photographer

I brought all my toys along for my role as Natasha & Luke’s Owen House Barn Winter Wedding Photographer, and having researched what the venue offers, I left most of them in the car! Back to being a low-light specialist, using hardly any flash for the entire day, and creating some lovely, natural Owen House Barn Winter Wedding photos for my clients. Shooting on expensive lenses, plus a combination of a silent shooting cameras, I went about my day as if it were May…well, almost!

Natasha & Luke had chosen their Owen House Barn Winter Wedding to be held between Christmas and New Year. As their Owen House Barn Winter Wedding Photographer, I captured the day mostly live and unstaged…but THAT photo studio was beckoning for later in the day.

Winter Wedding Photos

There’s something magical about a low-light winter wedding. As the wedding guests arrived for the 4pm ceremony, everyone got to keep their coats on as the weather outside was so cold and wet. No problem, and it all adds to the effect as my being an Owen House Barn Winter Wedding Photographer. Natasha got ready in the stunning all mirrored ‘The Beauty Shed’, and it was great fun trying to dodge my reflections. Thank goodness for Photoshop! I photograph a few winter weddings each year, and Natasha & Luke’s big day at Owen House Barn was simply brilliant. Luke and the groomsmen got ready across the car park, next to the main barn, in ‘The BAA-ber Shed’ - complete with the obligatory YouTube video on how to tie a Windsor knot…

Wedding Ceremony at Owen House Barn

The 4pm wedding ceremony soon came round, and the guests were all gathered, eagerly waiting for Natasha to appear with her bridesmaids. Armed with 35mm and 50mm prime lenses, I photographed her ‘Walk Of Fame’ together with her proud dad, as she made her way to meet a very emotional Luke. as their Owen House Barn Winter Wedding Photographer, I was really please with the look of the whole ceremony; there layout, the lighting and overall atmosphere of the event. Still no flash disturbing the proceedings though…not for this Owen House Barn Winter Wedding Photographer.

Authentic Winter Wedding Photography at Owen House Barn

I really enjoyed my day producing authentic Owen House Barn Winter Wedding Photography for Natasha & Luke, and was very pleased with the whole venue - it’s soooo well thought out! The main barn for the couples and family group photos its outside the ceremony room…but then again, not. It’s totally covered and weather proof. Though hardly July, we spent a few minutes photographing some family group photos, plus a few couples photos, and hardly noticed the temperature. Awesome Owen House Barn! And…we got to play in the photo studio for a few minutes too, still under cover from the December climate. I would love to go back in Summer as an Owen House Barn Winter Wedding Photographer and see how different it looks.

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the day…
