Highlights from Claire & Matt’s summer wedding at this fantastic Cheshire wedding venue

Experienced Styal Lodge Wedding Photographer

Claire & Matt booked me for their Styal Lodge wedding photography, after seeing several examples of my work at Styal Lodge. I am an Experienced Styal Lodge wedding photographer and have photographed quite a few weddings there over the years. You can also see my main Styal Lodge Gallery here too. I was really excited to be Claire & Matt’s Styal Lodge wedding photographer; the weather was going to be perfect, the brief was to just go and do my thing -oh, and try and get some good shots of Matt’s mum as she was very camera-shy! As an experienced Styal Lodge wedding photographer, this was a great brief for the day!

Unique Cheshire Wedding Venue

Styal Lodge is a unique Cheshire wedding venue, situated in the heart of Styal village, inside Styal Golf Club. The Lodge itself is a purpose-built wedding venue, and can host wedding ceremonies of up to 150 guests. The unique feature of this stunning barn-like wedding venue is the Lake. The Lake is a short buggy ride across the 18th fairway, and makes for classic Styal Lodge wedding photography. Every time I visit the Lake, I try to shoot things slightly differently, making my Styal Lodge wedding photography unique to each and every one of my clients. Today was no different. This unique Cheshire wedding venue was bathed in soft sunlight, and the jetty and Lake looked gorgeous!

Dotty About Ice Cream

The big surprise for the wedding guests for Claire & Matt’s big day was the famous Dotty About Ice Cream van. Adele was there, sleeves rolled up ready for the onslaught of guests, queueing for the delicious ice cream. Dotty is a 1970’s vintage Bedford van in showroom condition, and a welcome guest at any wedding…and especially for Claire & Matt’s Styal Lodge wedding photography as ‘she’ was used as a stunning backdrop to some of our informal wedding photos. Sadly I was too busy for my Raspberry Ripple! Ah well…

Wedding Ceremony at Styal Lodge

The wedding ceremony at Styal Lodge was very relaxed, with a hint of emotion here and there. Perfect. The readings were poignant, and Claire attempted to keep a brave face throughout, refusing to ‘crack’. She did well, but the tears did come and go a little. Then after the vows, and a few more happy tears it was time for a quick wedding selfie and a brilliant confetti throw. All adding to my Styal Lodge wedding photography collection for them.

Styal Lodge Wedding Photos

From the ceremony and confetti throw, the wedding guests relaxed in the stunning rear garden as we photographed some Styal Lodge wedding photos - some family groups and some Styal Lodge wedding photography of the newly-weds in the garden area, and down by the Lake. Styal Lodge wedding photos in summer look great - very relaxed and natural as is my style of photography. After an hour or so, we all moved inside for some brilliant wedding speeches and a stunning three-course meal by the talented guys at Pink Pepper Catering.

Agent Smith Band

The other surprise for the wedding guests was the Agent Smith band, booked for the evening party. These guys are brilliant, and rock the place from the first guitar chord. They had the dance floor bouncing after Claire & Matt’s cake cut and first dance, and kept it going well into the night. It’s always good to see (and hear) a good band that knows their craft - and one that gave me some great images for Claire & Matt’s Styal Lodge wedding photography collection.
