Highlights from Vicky & Phil’s brilliant wedding reception at this stunning Lancashire wedding venue

Morleys Hall Wedding Venue

The Barn at Morleys Hall is a stunning, off-the-beaten-track wedding venue near Astley & Tyldesley, and just off the East Lancs Road. Possibly not the best description of its location (no offence to the lovely people of Astley & Tyldesley), but this lovely barn wedding venue is seemingly miles from anywhere once you have travelled a mile or so down a country lane to find it. And well worth the short journey too! Morleys Hall is a beautiful converted barn wedding venue, and describes itself as…

“Morleys Hall is a gorgeous converted barn, situated just off the East Lancs Road. Beautifully refurbished, it can comfortably accommodate up to 200 guests across its multiple levels. With its high ceilings and picturesque balcony, the building combines rustic charm with a modern aesthetic, producing a venue quite unlike any other in the North West.

Precision heating and ventilation systems ensure a comfortable temperature all year round to create the right kind of atmosphere for your party guests. Meanwhile, the neatly appointed courtyard, beautiful local foliage, and stunning exterior of the building provide plenty of photo opportunities for weddings, charity balls, private parties, and more.

The Barn at Morleys Hall is something of a hidden gem among North West wedding venues. The recently converted building looks absolutely stunning, inside and out, providing ample opportunities for solo or group photos on the big day and throughout the reception. Built across multiple levels, there is room enough for 180 guests, with plenty of space to get involved with the celebrations or take a break.

The Barn at Morleys Hall is a family-owned venue, looked after by the friendly, charming, and supportive Anne-Marie and Jonathan. They know how important your big event is to you, and together with their dedicated team, they will help you coordinate everything so that it runs smoothly on the day.

Whether you want to book The Barn at Morleys Hall for a wedding or other private event, get in touch with the team today. You can give us a call or send us an email and have someone call you back. We can handle everything over the phone, or you can make an appointment to visit us and check out our stunning new venue for yourself”.

Photographers Photographing Other Photographer’s Weddings

Vicky & Phil met me at a wedding fair. They were looking for a photographer to capture their wedding reception at The Barn at Morleys Hall, as they were getting married abroad, in Turkey. Was I available to photograph another photographer’s wedding reception. Yes, I was - and looking forward to the challenge as Vicky & Phil’s Barn at Morleys Hall Wedding Photographer - complete with a lot of low light photography, sparklers and fireworks!

The Barn at Morleys Hall Wedding Photographer

This was to be my first visit as a Barn at Morleys Hall Wedding Photographer, and it didn’t disappoint! I was booked from around 5pm till 9 ish, to capture the wedding reception and general party of the event. No problem for this newbie Barn at Morleys Hall Wedding Photographer. Vicky is a new born and wedding photographer herself, so she knew what she wanted from her Barn at Morleys Hall Wedding Photographer (sorry Phil, you didn't get a say in the matter). This was to be a more traditional, ‘Old Skool’ style wedding - lots of Bride and Groom portraits, lots of family group photos, plus lots of tradition shots thrown to the mix….a little out of my normal area for wedding photography. But…who doesn't love a bit of traditional wedding photography now and then? Certainly not this Barn at Morleys Hall Wedding Photographer.

At one stage I was photographing a small group of friends and a voice behind me exclaimed - “Are you Mick Cookson?” “Err…yes…”, I replied. “Thought so, you photographed our wedding a few years ago and did a brilliant job. Vicky - you are in great hands!”

Wedding Videos at The Barn At Morleys Hall

On video duties with me was the very friendly Jamie from Alchemy Wedding Films Our itinerary was busy. Very busy. Vicky knew what she wanted from us both and scheduled the reception with military precision! This Barn at Morleys Hall Wedding Photographer and Videographer ‘hit the ground running’ were kept very busy by our boss! From first dance, to sparkler photographs and then a top-secret firework display I managed to get some great, authentic wedding photos as Vicky & Phil’s Barn at Morleys Hall Wedding Photographer.

The Pocket Squares Wedding Band

For entertainment, local band, The Pocket Squares energised the barn with a great set. The dance floor was buzzing once Vicky & Phil had finished their first dance. This band are very good at what they do - well worth checking out!

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the few hours I spent as a Barn at Morleys Hall Wedding Photographer…
