Jay contacted me about photographing his and Janette’s wedding at Manchester Cathedral recently. A very intimate wedding it proved to be - technically an elopement with just three witnesses, plus a live stream to China. I met the couple outside the cathedral, where they quickly disappeared inside to get changed, ready for the ceremony, It was all very exciting for this Elopement Photographer Manchester; just five of us in total for the ceremony, plus a photoshoot afterwards. A brilliant way to spend a Tuesday morning!

Weddings At Manchester Cathedral

This was to be my first ever wedding shoot at Manchester Cathedral. Spooky, seeing I live a few miles up Bury New Road in Prestwich, and never used the Nikons there. I have been there for Carol concerts and suchlike, but never a wedding. Well, this Elopement Photographer Manchester was ready for this one. Weddings at Manchester Cathedral are very special. The ceremony was to be held in a private chapel, away from the public. A simply stunning location for an elopement wedding.

Chinese Wedding In Manchester

I have photographed a good few Chinese weddings in Manchester over the years. Always great fun, always respectful and brilliant to photograph. Janette & Jay’s elopement was no different. This Chinese wedding in Manchester was going to be half documentary wedding photography, half posed photoshoot, taking me out of my ‘normal’ working style and giving us chance to play a little. This Chinese wedding in Manchester included the photoshoot both inside the Cathedral, using the stunning sunlight pouring through the windows, plus a walkabout around Shambles Square for this Elopement Photographer Manchester. The light was gorgeous, and secretly I used the sunlight reflected off the buildings as my main light source, giving this urban wedding its ‘look.
